I am not a fanatic or paranoid, but it seems strange to me that a game would involve our children and bar codes. I don't know why but something bugs me about this toy. They're searching the house right now for things to scan! Thanx again everyone! Unless we get there and the boys would rather have the other, but I don't see that happening. As soon as dh is done watching his basketball game (funny how the world revolves around sports for him! lol) we're headed out to Wal-Mart to get them for the boys. My boys always whip out their Skannerz as soon as I get back from the grocery store. The cons are: if you lose a battle you lose the monster, battles are a lot harder/more complicated, it's hard to earn items (weapons). They said the pros about the Commander are: better technology, you can create your own tribe, you can trade or banish monsters, you can get different types of monsters from the regular version, you can run away from battles. I am glad you gave me the real name for it because I couldn't figure out what they were trying to describe. We don't have one but both boys asked for one just a couple days ago. Which is better? Just looking for some info before we go out a buy two (one for each).
There's also a ball of some sort (can't remember the name). I've checked out their website and there is the original and the commander one.
